In Bardo

The one phrase I've heard the most in the past month is "Hurrying to wait" - and it's driving me nuts. Without letting too much detail of my life slip, I'm currently waiting for my possible future employer to finally say "Yes". No, I'm not saying exceptions need to be made for little ole' me. And no, I don't have a problem with waiting.

The distinct thing that's wracking my mind at this particular moment is that I've applied for a various number of positions, and it's still up for debate as to whether or not I'll even be employed. For all intensive purposes, I'll admit I'd be happy getting paid for much anything. The problem about having applied for the number of positions I have (of which, I'd been told I'm a decent prospect for many of) is that it's left me in Bardo, so to speak. Any fans of the Real Adventures of Johnny Quest might recognize where I'm coming from with this.

I don't know where I'm going - at the tip of the hat, I could be expected to drop my entire life, hop on a plane and spend every minute of every day dedicated to what I do. At the same time, I could end up waiting for 4 more months to work an occupation with minimal impact on my lifestyle. It's become rather troublesome, as I've found myself yearning to drop into a new game, MMO and the like, only with great hesitation -

Just today, around 5:00PM, I finally get my answer. I actually have an extensive amount of time to enjoy myself, and though I can't say whether or not I'll have a lot of free time, it won't be a every-minute-of-every-day role of responsibility. This is pretty cool news. And so, after my time in uncertain Limbo, I am granted a state of certain Limbo. Can't wait to get to work, but it won't be for some time. So hurray, I should probably go grab a new game... Even though I don't have nor can I afford a rig to run a modern one on.

A nice little reminder that a little patience goes a long way. But nothing gets things done like a tightly-gripped fist. Words to live by, folks. Have fun, and stay away from the evil eggnog. :D
